Position Title: Attractions Seasonal Assistant/Intern

Department: 2025 Oklahoma State Fair

Reports To: Vice President, State Fair Division

Supervises: N/A

Classification: Seasonal, Hourly

Pay Range: $12 - $14/hr (dependent upon experience)

Job Responsibilities

Assist the State Fair Division Vice President with all duties including but not limited to the following:
Assist with office-related tasks including correspondence and mailings.
Assist with attraction contracts including pursuing outstanding contracts, insurance and payments.
Assist with ordering, tracking and distribution of credentials.
Assist in drafting verbiage for website, signage and other publications.
Field questions and/or resolve problems via phone and in-person.
Assist with setup, maintenance, management, and strike of all Fair shows and attractions.
Assist with managing all shows and attractions during the Fair
Assist in other departments as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Requirements

Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Self-motivated and detailed oriented with the ability to complete assignments with accuracy.
Ability to work efficiently with minimal or no supervision.
Extensive experience of Microsoft software, specifically Word, Excel and ability to use mail merge.
Knowledge in Adobe products, such as InDesign and Photoshop Elements, preferred, but not required.
Knowledge in Canva.
Ability to learn industry specific programs quickly with minimal or no training.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Extended hours, nights and weekends may be required during peak periods.
Frequent or continual movement from place to place with normal physical mobility, covering long distances with ease, managing assigned tasks throughout various indoor and outdoor locations within and around the property and in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions.
Regularly lift, carry and put away items weighing up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry heavier items and/or assist others in lifting heavier objects, as job demands.
Walk and/or stand for extended periods in addition to other prolonged physical exertions including seeing, hearing, reaching, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas may be required.

Additional Information – Work Schedule

Flexible daytime hours can be arranged through the end of May, at which time the position becomes full-time. Those who take this job MUST be able to work 7 days a week from September 1 – October 1.

June 2 – October 10, 2025 (DATES & TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

PRE-FAIR HOURS

June 2 – July 4, 5 weeks, 15-25 hrs/week

July 7 – August 29, 8 weeks, 40 hrs/week

FAIR HOURS

August 30 – September 21, 3 weeks, 50+ hrs/week

*Daily hours vary based on event volume

POST FAIR HOURS

September 22 – October 10, 3 weeks, 40 hrs/week
