Job Overview

This position performs a variety of labor and customer service functions in various sub-departments within the Arts, Agriculture and Education Department. The lead position will direct exhibit attendants with clearly defined guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

· Assist in the set-up, maintenance, and tear down of exhibits.

· Perform manual labor involved in the set-up, installation and teardown of exhibits.

· Clean and maintain exhibits, which may include using power tools, ladders and other

equipment.

· Assist and interact with guests to provide accurate information and assistance to ensure

guests have an enjoyable experience.

· Keep abreast of information to answer questions and concerns with timely and

knowledgeable responses in person or on the phone.

· Practice good physical work methods, utilize good work habits, and meet established

production standards.

· Keep scheduled commitments.

· Wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, googles) and maintain a safe work

environment.

· Perform other related duties as assigned or requested when needed.

· Assist with all aspects of the exhibit competition (if applicable).

· Assist exhibitors with drop-off and pick up of entries (if applicable).

· Ensure staff take their breaks and lunch.

· May be asked to open or close the exhibit.

Qualifications

· Excellent customer service and ability to work cooperatively with team members and others.

· Ability to lead work.

· Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently.

Working Conditions

· Work will include lots of time on your feet on concrete floors.

· Lift objects up to 30 pounds. Push/pull heavy objects.

· Exposure to farm animals, animal waste, dust, dirt, and unpleasant odors.

· Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
