The Kitchen Manager manages the Somerville Arts Council’s (SAC) Nibble Kitchen, a cultural culinary economic development initiative, located in Bow Market. The employee focuses on workforce development and will be the Person In Charge responsible for the overall operations of the SAC Nibble Kitchen.

Oversee Nibble Kitchen
General kitchen administration work and kitchen maintenance
Kitchen Support relating to Farmers Markets and Cooking Classes
Education and Experience: High School diploma, or equivalent, and one to three (1-3) years of food service, experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

The work environment involves everyday discomforts typical of offices, with occasional exposure to outside elements. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant. Work also requires the ability to travel independently and conduct work duties at a variety of indoor and outdoor job sites within the City. Employee will have some flexibility in schedule to complete work assignments.

Physical Skills
Work effort principally involves standing and walking to perform work tasks, with intermittent periods of sitting. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Motor Skills
Must be able to frequently talk/listen, grasp, push, reach, stoop/kneel/crouch, and use repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement. Must be able to regularly move and operate mechanical equipment. Minimal motor skills are also required for activities such as operating a telephone, personal computer and/or office equipment.
Visual Skills
Visual demands include clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and ability to identify and distinguish colors. Employee will also require visual skills to constantly read documents for general understanding and analytical purposes.
Hours: Full Time (Employee standard schedule includes evenings and weekends and may require flexibility.Typical schedule is from Tues-Sat 10am-6pm but flexibility is required.)
Salary: $ 49,683.64 annualized, plus benefits
