We are looking for a friendly, reliable and punctual person with a strong attention to detail, excellent communications skills, retail experience and some knowledge of artisanal and nutritionally dense foods, to work at our Berkeley Farmer Market Booth on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The shift schedule is Tuesday, 12:00-8:30pm, and Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm. Both shifts include an uppaid half-hour meal break, and we provide nutritious food you can take to the market with you.
Primary responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection and purchases, end of day transaction reconciliation, maintaining booth appearance, assisting with packing/unpacking and loading/unloading products, booth set up and product display.
Key Responsibilities
Handling cash and credit card POS (point of sale) transactions
Applying glass credits to transactions
Communicate with customers about Three Stone Hearth's philosophy of traditional, nutrient-dense foods
Familiarity with our housemade products
Assisting customers with product questions and purchases
Stocking and displaying products
Keeping the booth tidy and attractive
Interfacing with Online Store Inventory role holder for approved inventory
Spreadsheet entries for accurate product inventory tracking
Reconciling daily transactions
Assisting with loading, transport and booth set up and break down
Working closely with the market support person for a smooth and timely shift - the suppoirt person helps with the loading and set-up at the beginning, works the booth for the main person's meal vreak, and helps with unloading and closing activities

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8 plus hours)

Job Specific Requirements
Must have a current CA driver’s license and clean driving record, must be comfortable driving our company van
This position could potentially be combined with other roles in the company for more hours.

Compensation
$19.00 - $19.60 per hour, depending on experience plus benefits noted above.
