Job Overview

This position operates a variety of communications equipment utilized to receive information, communicates requests for services, and dispatches services to specific locations throughout the facility.


Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Dispatches service to appropriate locations according to caller’s requests, specifications, or need using radios or telephones.
  • Questions callers to determine their locations and the nature of their problems to determine type of response needed.
  • Determines response requirements and relative priorities of situations and dispatches necessary service in accordance with established procedures.
  • Relays information or services using telephones or radios.
  • Takes information from the public and other sources regarding crimes, threats, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other public safety matters.
  • Records details of calls, dispatches, and messages.
  • Scans radio system and observes alarm registers and video monitors to determine needed service.
  • Monitors emergency and code alarms or routes necessary calls to the appropriate location.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested when needed.
  • Promotes the District's F.A.I.R. values by creating a quality guest experience for both internal and external customers.Β

  • Excellent customer service, communication skills, and team player.
  • Detail-oriented, organizational skills, quick learner, ability to multi-task, work independently, and under pressure.
  • Good judgement and professionalism.


Working Conditions

  • Work performed indoors.
  • Works a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays when necessary.
