SUMMARY:
The Community Market Manager - Hospice is responsible for driving strategic growth across an assigned
geographic region by leading a team of Hospice Community Educators and Clinical Community Liaisons.
This role provides hands-on leadership, coaching, and accountability to ensure team success in building
strong referral relationships, increasing admissions, and expanding market share.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and oversee all community growth and strategic plans for dedicated agencies.
Analyze regional market trends and referral data to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with operational leaders to align sales activity with clinical capacity, service capabilities and patient eligibility.
Conduct routine field visits with team members to provide coaching, joint calls and sales strategy support.
Work with region and agency leadership to implement appropriate sales structure and prioritize key customers in accordance with market strategic growth plan.
Be responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of community marketing personnel and activities to meet/exceed assigned sales target.
Provide support to community marketing personnel for dedicated agencies and serve as a point of escalation for questions and subject matter expertise.
Conduct administrative oversight functions for community marketing personnel for dedicated agencies such as time off approvals and assessing additional support needs.
Work with RVP, Hospice, Sr. Director Sales, Partnership and Community leadership to develop and execute market specific annual strategic plan/budget and prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales updates to ensure achievement of established sales targets and compliance with established budgetary constraints.
Manage sales time and resources according to plan.
Ensure sales team maintains detailed territory lists, prioritizing accounts in accordance with the market/territory sales plan. Maintain detailed territory management systems records as required.
Meet with market leadership and community team to discuss market sales activities, new opportunities, potential barriers, and service recovery on a weekly basis.
Make sales calls, arrange appointments and deliver educational programs to keep referral sources current in local agency service offerings.
Be a liaison between referral sources and company staff to provide information on company services, resolve problems and maintain positive customer relations.
Maintain market awareness and prepare competitive updates.
Participate in special projects, quarterly blitz events, and perform other duties as assigned.
Travel expectations up to 90% within assigned territory.
Other duties as assigned.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the assigned team members
Interviewing, hiring, training and termination of department personnel
Provides consistent coaching and provides challenge and opportunity to direct reports
Supervises direct reports with consistency and clarity of expectations
Completes yearly evaluations in an accurate and timely manner
Performs coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed
Works with direct reports to ensure employee satisfaction and resolution of issues and concerns
Timecard, PTO, and expense report management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience, preferably in hospice or in the medical field or a
combination of sales / clinical delivery
One year of progressive hospice sales leadership preferred
Working knowledge of hospice eligibility criteria and referral processes required
Data-driven decision making and a track record of strategic growth execution
Ability to create positive impressions and communicate with a variety of people. Maintain
effective communication with patients, families, physicians, management team, direct reports,
and co-workers. Compassionate and caring while working with patients.
Ability to make appropriate clinical judgments.
Ability to identify a situation and handle it with the best possible solution.

Ability to prioritize and be timely. Works efficiently.
Ability to follow directions and work as a team member while also serving as a manager/mentor
to those on the Community team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook and the ability to learn new systems.
EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, marketing and /or clinical degree as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
