Position Purpose: To support the growth of Living City Farms as a mission-driven, community-focused, and economically regenerative farm by leading marketing, outreach, and program development. This role helps expand the farm’s visibility and impact through strategic communications, events, and customer engagement, while also supporting business development and volunteer coordination. The position serves as a connector between the farm, its community, and its mission to grow healthy food, steward the land, and provide meaningful, purpose-driven work. 
What You’ll Do
Communication and Outreach
  • Manage the creation and execution of a communication strategy to promote agricultural products, increase brand recognition, and cultivate a broader customer base
  • Ensure regular and consistent communication with the target audience through the development of engaging social media content, e-newsletters, and blog posts
  • Maintain the LCF website, keeping it fresh with regular content updates
  • Develop and implement farm tours, farm-to-table dinners, workshops, and other events with the goal of fostering rich relationships with customers/partners and attracting new clientele
  • Track, evaluate, and report on performance of all engagement activities through data collection and analysis
  • Coordinate volunteer programs; directly supervise all farm volunteers
  • Attend community events hosted by outside organizations to increase visibility and awareness of LCF
Business Development
  • Support the research and development of opportunities for revenue growth and expansion to new markets (e.g. cross-promotional partnerships, additional sales outlets, earned-income opportunities)
  • Support the development of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program
  • Monitor industry and market trends; collaborate with the General Manager, Farm Manager, and Assistant Manager to build a sales pipeline that meets business objectives and customer needs
  • Represent LCF at local farmers markets, acting as on-site customer service agent and sales personnel
  • Generate and innovate business ideas alongside the General Manager, Farm Manager, and Assistant Manager to support LCF development outside of the normal growing season
Markets Stewardship
  • Plan, work, and develop LCF engagement with local farmers markets
  • Create a consistent atmosphere for the LCF brand at our primary farmers markets and develop strong vendor relationships
  • Collaborate with the LCF team to improve all aspects of the farmers market experience
Additional Value You’ll Provide
Onsite Production
  • Seeding vegetable flats in accordance with the crop plan
  • Assessing health of transplants and timing readiness for planting
  • Properly hardening off transplants when appropriate
  • Labeling flats and maintaining organized records in Tend farm software
  • Further developing nursery and post-harvest best practices and SOPs
  • Helping develop the design and workflow of the wash and pack station
  • Properly storing, washing, and packing produce to be ready for sale
  • Keeping up to date with current food regulations and food safety protocols
  • Sorting and grading produce for excellent quality
What We’re Looking For
Education and Experience
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Ohio State Driver’s License
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media, etc.
  • Experience in agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and/or farmers markets
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Deep interest in and commitment to regenerative agriculture, land stewardship, and local food systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the farm clearly and authentically across digital platforms and in person
  • Proven ability to develop engaging content for social media, newsletters, and other outreach channels
  • Comfortable with public speaking and building relationships through farm tours, events, markets, and community gatherings
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a small, dynamic team and across diverse community groups
  • Customer service and sales experience; confident engaging with the public in fast-paced or outdoor settings
  • Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and follow through on details
  • Flexible and creative thinker who is comfortable adapting to shifting priorities and seasonal rhythms
  • Willingness to give and receive feedback in a growth-minded, relational work environment
  • Basic tech proficiency in tools related to marketing, website updates, data tracking, and communications
Work Conditions
The work for this position is conducted in various settings, oftentimes outdoors in varying temperatures.
Physical Demands
While working, the ability to:
  • Be physically fit and able to withstand long hours on their feet
  • Occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs
  • Regularly hear, see, and talk
  • Occasionally walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb throughout the day
Schedule Expectations:
This is a full-time position where hours fluctuate with the intensity of the growing season. Generally, we work 40–50 hours per week from March to November with paid overtime for hours worked over 40, and approximately 30 hours per week from December to February. During the growing season, there will at times be required work on weekends and at farmers markets.
