We are are looking for a passionate and experienced Beekeeper to join our Central beekeeping team based in Te Awamutu. The role will start at the beginning of the season (August) and will be permanent full time within our global team.

The Job


You will be required to cover all aspects of commercial beekeeping activities including;


  • Securing Mānuka honey production
  • Hive manipulation and management 
  • Responsibility for the quality and peak production of your allocated hives, including disease control
  • Collaboration with other teams and branches to support the delivery of apiary performance targets
  • Moving hives as required 
  • Supporting apiary apprentices on their learning journey



About you


You will have several seasons of beekeeping under your belt, ideally with a commercial background within New Zealand, and you need to have a passion for Bees!  You will also be:


  • An clear communicator who can work well with others
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift and shift hives/boxes
  • Flexibility to travel away from home during the peak of the season
  • A supporter and promoter of safe working within the day-to-day operations of your team
  • You must have a full NZ class 1 license, and a class 2 would be great but is not essential
  • OSH forklift certificate will be an advantage, but is not essential
  • As an experienced beekeeper you'll be well aware the role will, at times, require some flexibility around hours.
