Job Overview

This position is responsible for enabling a team of Incident Investigators to successfully provide efficient, non-biased and courteous Incident Investigative service to the Fair public, employees, vendors, ride operators, sponsorship staff and anyone else associated with the San Diego County Fair and or the Del Mar Fairgrounds.


Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

· Model the behaviors, procedures and processes expected of an Dispatcher.

· Assist with the setup, maintain, and teardown of the Dispatch office.

· Maintain the Inventory of District radios which are stored and issued in Dispatch.

· Greeting cashiers at the beginning of their shifts.

· Provide pertinent information to the Dispatchers.

· Assist and guide the Dispatchers and offer correction as needed.

· Assist Dispatchers when needed in customer issues.

· Perform the duties of a Dispatcher as needed.

· Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with the Employee Handbook and uniform guidelines.

· Have ability to resolve staff scheduling issues.

· Positive attitude.

· Excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement, and professionalism, organized with problem-solving skills.

· Ability to adapt to change and make decisions under pressure.

· Ability to interact with the those calling Dispatch in a calm, pleasant, professional manner to address their concerns.

· Ability to build a team atmosphere within Dispatch.

· Open availability for the run of the fair.


Working Conditions:

· Work is performed in an indoor setting with minimal ability or need to go outside.

· Regular exposure to hot/cold temperatures.

· Ability to adapt to changing situations as needed.

· Must deal at times with rude and irritated customers in a polite and calm manner to try and resolve situations and concerns.

· Must be able to address issues with Fair staff, vendors, or sponsorship staff as needed when they are not following rules and/or procedures.
