Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily monitoring and maintenance of beehives.
- Help in the inspection of colonies for signs of disease, pests, and health concerns.
- Support the harvesting, processing, and packaging of bee products such as honey, wax, and pollen.
- Assist in cleaning, repairing, and preparing hives and beekeeping tools.
- Assist in relocating colonies when necessary.
- Record basic data on hive performance and report observations to the Lead Beekeeper.
- Participate in training and workshops to improve skills and knowledge of beekeeping.
- Support community outreach or educational programs related to beekeeping.
- Follow all safety and hygiene protocols during handling and processing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Lead Beekeeper or Farm Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Willingness to work in Songea.
- Certificate or diploma in Beekeeping, Agriculture or any other related field.
- Prior experience in beekeeping or agricultural work is an added advantage.
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of bee behavior and apiary safety practices.
