*Job Summary:*
The PNW Foundation is seeking a skilled, creative, and energetic *Farmers Market Manager* to oversee the day-to-day operations of the market, coordinate special events, and support promotional and marketing efforts. This role offers hands-on experience in event coordination, program development, and community engagement. The Market Manager will report to the PNW Foundation Director but will have autonomy to manage market operations on event days.
This seasonal position requires a flexible schedule, including Friday evenings until 9 p.m. from mid-May through September, as well as occasional weekends. The ideal candidate will work *20-35 hours per week* through the end of September.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of the Farmers Market operations.
* Manage logistics, vendor relations, and on-site event coordination.
* Conduct outreach to local businesses, community members, and organizations to increase vendor participation and public attendance.
* Develop and implement promotional strategies, including digital and print marketing.
* Assist in organizing and executing special events in collaboration with community partners.
* Represent the PNW Foundation and Farmers Market professionally through public engagement, email, phone, and in-person interactions.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations, including food safety requirements.
* Perform administrative tasks related to event coordination and reporting.
*Qualifications & Requirements:*
*Education & Experience:*
* Senior-level college student or graduate in *hospitality, event planning, marketing, communications, business management, or sales.*
* Experience in event coordination, marketing, or community engagement is preferred.
* Proficiency in *Microsoft Office applications* (Word, Excel, Outlook).
*Skills & Abilities:*
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Ability to lift up to *50 lbs.* as needed.
*Special Requirements:*
* Must possess a *valid driver’s license.*
* Obtain a *Spokane County food safety permit* within two weeks of hire.
*Compensation & Schedule:*
* *Hourly Wage:* $17.66 - $22.00 per hour.
* *Hours:* 25-30 hours per week (flexible, seasonal).
* *Duration:* Mid-May through September.
* This is an *at-will, non-represented, FLSA non-exempt, temporary-seasonal position* covered by Workers’ Compensation and subject to Federal withholdings for Social Security, Medicare, and income taxes.
