About Us:
 The City of Oak Creek is dedicated to providing excellent services to our residents, visitors, and business community. Our Marketing & Public Relations team is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and detail-oriented intern to join us in making an impact through exciting marketing and events.

Your Role:
 As a Marketing & Events Intern, you'll gain practical experience in coordinating and supporting community events within a local government setting. Your work will focus on event logistics, vendor and partner communication, on-site execution, and helping ensure our Farmers Market and other city events run smoothly. The core of this role centers on detailed event planning and day-of support. It’s a great opportunity to build real-world event experience, work with a collaborative team, and contribute to creating memorable experiences for families in Oak Creek.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist with the planning and promotion of local City events.
• Collaborate with team members and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
• Help manage the Food Share program at the Farmers Market.
• Support the creation of engaging content for the City’s website and social media channels.
• Help track event analytics and compile data.
• Proofread and edit marketing materials.
• Dive into various marketing and communication tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• You’re a full-time college student studying marketing, public relations, communications, event planning, or a related field.
• You’re comfortable with tech tools like Microsoft Office and Canva (bonus points for experience with digital cameras and photo editing!).
• You’re detail-oriented, organized, and can juggle multiple tasks with a smile!
• A positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and with a team are key.
• Previous experience with customer service or cash handling is a plus.

This is an irregular part-time position. Evening and weekend hours may be required for some events.
Pay $17.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience
20 hours per week available
