Elmwood Stock Farm is a family-owned farming business located in Scott County, KY . The farm covers almost 400 acres and grows a wide assortment of organic vegetables. Additional production includes row crops, hay for livestock, grass-fed and -finished beef cattle and sheep, along with pasture-raised pigs, chickens, and heritage breed turkeys. The farmland is USDA Certified Organic, as are the crops, the animals, and the products produced. This is unique for the area, and Elmwood Stock Farm maintains a healthy place to work while producing nutritious farm foods for customers.

We are hiring for a *Farmers Market Coordinator* to join our team in Georgetown, Ky. The farmers market and sales professional will work with the management team to oordinate the farm’s attendance, product offerings, and sales at farmers markets. Additional responsibility includes assisting in marketing, sales, and relationship management to maintain a reputation for excellent service, and generate new and repeat business.

This is a hands-on management position leading and managing the team of farmers market sales associates. The position is estimated at 28-30 hours per week with seasonal variance. Work days include Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

*Responsibilities*

_Farmers Market Coordination_

● Coordinate, attend, and make sales at the farm’s multiple weekly farmers markets.

● Train, learn, and then become the trainer of setup, sales, and packup at farmers market.

● Be trained by the management team to hire and schedule market staff for all markets.

● Manage, train, schedule, and support team members that work the markets.

● Support the farmers market team by planning weekly meeting agendas; keeping notes of plans, actions, and timetables; leading assigned projects; and follow up as needed with team members.

● Work with the fulfillment team to ensure pre-ordered products are packed, loaded and picked up by customers and CSA members.

● Work with the fulfillment team on meats offered at market, market specials, and sampling items.

● Work with production team members on product preparation for market day sales.

● Maintain hardware, software, devices, and market supplies in conjunction with the management team.

● Pre-load the van ahead of market days, and coordinate and perform restocking on Saturdays.

● Follow up on tasks or actions that are noted during the markets.

● Coordinate unloading and storage of market supplies in between market weekends.

● Monitor restocking, maintenance, and ordering of market supplies.

● Update/refresh/repair/restock market infrastructure items that need extra attention.

● Work with the marketing team on signage and promo materials as needed.

● Coordinate inventory management of pantry items, jarred items, and dry goods.

● Coordinate SNAP, Soli, and other market programs.

● Ensure permits and licenses are renewed and maintained.

● Train on food sampling procedures and maintain supplies, permits, and safe food protocols.

● Manage communications with market managers and the farm.



_Marketing and Sales_

● Learn the brand’s identity and voice to replicate across all marketing channels.

● Become knowledgeable of the farm’s mission, goals, tenets, methods of production, enterprises, and products, and communicate about them to customers and community members.

● As part of the marketing team, assist in planning and coordination to achieve monthly and seasonal sales goals.

● Work with the management and marketing teams to design and/or update marketing materials to promote products, events and initiatives.

● Capture photo and video content for use in newsletters, website pages, ecommerce website, public communications, and social media channels.

● Understand and demonstrate a sense of urgency when assignments come with tight deadlines.

● Additional tasks as the needs of the farm change.

● Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions including cold, heat, and rain.
