*Position Overview:*
The Viroqua Farmers Market Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and enhancing one of the community’s most cherished traditions. This independent, unsupervised position requires a self-motivated individual with strong judgment and confidence to oversee all aspects of the market, including vendor relations, event logistics, and community engagement. The right candidate must be able to work autonomously, making informed decisions to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for vendors and visitors alike. The Coordinator collaborates with local farmers, artisans, and community partners to uphold the market’s producer-only standards while fostering a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates local agriculture, creativity, and connection.
*Responsibilities:*
* Oversee the setup and teardown of the market area, including vendor stalls, canopies, signage, road barriers, Chamber tent, and other equipment.
* Manage vendor relations, assign booth spaces, and ensure consistent communication. Collect daily rental fees and maintain accurate records.
* Ensure vendors and the market adhere to all relevant regulations, permits, and safety standards.
* Address customer inquiries and complaints and ensure a positive shopping experience.
* Maintain open and effective communication with vendors, addressing their concerns and needs. Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise between vendors or between vendors and the market.
* Maintain accurate records of vendor information, sales, and other relevant data.
* Safety: Ensure the market area is safe and secure for vendors and customers.
* Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized market area.
* Conduct end-of-season evaluation, and providing a summary report
