Clear Spring Creamery is looking for a driver and sales team member to transport dairy products from our farm to farmers markets in the DC area and to assist with set-up, sales, and break-down at the market. This is a fun opportunity to meet and get to know a wide range of people and to develop your sales skills.
*About Us:* Clear Spring Creamery is small, grass-fed dairy farm near Clear Spring, MD, that sells milk, yogurt, and sometimes other dairy products at farmer’s markets in the DC area.
*Farmer’s Market Days include:*
* Sunday – Dupont Circle Farmer’s Market – 5:15 am to approximately 4:00 pm
* Sunday – Takoma Park Farmer’s Market – 6:30 am to approximately 3:30 pm
* Saturday – Falls Church & Arlington Market – 4:30 am to approximately 3:00 pm
We are looking for someone who can work 2 - 3 shifts per month. Availability on both Saturdays and Sundays is preferred, though you would rarely work both Saturday & Sunday in the same weekend.
*Job Duties include:*
* \*Driving box truck or large van from our farm in Clear Spring, MD to DC-area farmer’s market, and back at the end of the day
* Unloading coolers of milk, yogurt, etc and other market supplies once arriving to market
* Setting up the market stand and displays of product
* Selling various dairy products using Square POS
* Communicating with customers and other market staff
* Breaking down market stand and re-loading truck for return home
* Unloading unsold product into farm walk-in cooler at the end of the day
\*Indicates duty is performed independently; all other duties would be performed with assistance from other team members
*Qualifications:*
* 18 years of age, driver’s license, and a clean driving record
* Cleanliness, and respect for food hygiene and sanitation
* Reliable and on time
* Customer service skills
* Physical ability to handle heavy coolers, folding tables, tents, etc.
* Willingness to work in all kinds of weather – the markets are outdoors, and we sell year-round
