Assistant Market Manager

Part-Time, approximately 8-16 hours per week May-October.

Summary

The Assistant Market Manager ensures successful onsite management of the Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market and may be assigned to other markets within the region.

Essential Job Duties:

Act in support of Market Manager

Manage daily operations as scheduled at the Farmers Market including:

Opening market

Processing food assistance program transactions

Collecting vendor fees

Conducting general Market Manager Office duties, and

Closing market

Create content for SEEDS social media

Qualifications

Availability to work Farmers Market days/hours as assigned

Wednesdays (physical), 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM (June-October)

Thursdays (tentative), 12:30 PM - 6:30 PM (May-October)

Saturdays (physical) 5:30 AM – 1:00 PM (May-October)

Availability to attend monthly Farmers Market Advisory Board Meetings as assigned by the Market Manager

Availability to conduct monthly vendor visits as assigned by the (May-October)

Ability to be on one’s feet and engage in activity for a full 6-8 hour shift onsite

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions – rain, sleet, snow, heat, etc

Ability to work and be productive with minimal supervision

Ability to manage and direct support staff

Ability to do quick mental math and follow paperwork procedures

Ability to take photos and create quality social media content

Ability to manage difficult situations and personalities

Ability to communicate professionally via phone or email

Ability to be a safe driver of a SEEDS vehicle
